• This course has definitely met its objectives of opening the pathway to a working adult like me to pursue the degree in a year to get ourselves ready to move further on our career path in the engineering industry.

The curriculum was grounded in both theory and practice through its labs session & project. Modules are designed to simulate real-life scenarios enabling us to practice what we’ve learnt. The classes are taught in an interactive manner by sharing the knowledge & experience from our lecturer and classmates. I have learnt to adopt more than one perspective during the process of learning and acquired the skills for problem solving, systems thinking and critical analysis.

Lastly I would like to express my appreciation to all the BMC staff involved for their assistance and guidance. I’m grateful that I have made the right choice to pursue my education at BMC International College where providing such a fantastic learning platform to me.

  • BMC was the most appropriate choice for me, given me the flexibility to study part-time while managing the work and family. The BMC staff’s approachable nature enabled me to decide on my BEng degree programme from the University of Hertfordshire.

The Lecturers are very knowledgable and they taught the concepts in depth and clearly. I am very happy with my achievement and choice of studying at BMC.

I am grateful for BMC and the support of my family for the duration of my course of study.

  • BMC offers a thorough Degree course with emphasis on understanding and mastering the material. The teaching staff are very professional in their approach to the subject and were all reasonably competent and knowledgeable about the subjects taught. The Final year of the degree was tough! There is no getting around the fact that hard work and dedication are required with up to three nights a week at the school after normal work.  However the staff at BMC were able to keep the class on track, helping some of us older students remember mathematical concepts forgotten many years ago. The lecturers were very attuned to the students’ needs to be prepared for the continuous examination cycles with much problem solving and tutorial demonstrations in class allowing us to be properly prepared for the final papers.

The Degree course was interesting to do and has allowed me to somewhat re-actualize myself at work, bringing me up to date on some new concepts in Electronics such as Artificial Intelligence and Different programmable devices which didn’t really exist in that form the last time I attended formal tuition.

Even if I have occupied a Management role in Semiconductor manufacturing for many years the course has helped me look at certain aspects of my job in a new light and helped me to discipline and synthetize my thoughts in a more logical manner. The fact of being in class with many different people of diverse backgrounds and industries has also had a positive impact on my everyday interactions with Engineers and Technicians at all levels.

My Management were supportive of my attending the course and completion has led to an opening up of different careers opportunities both within and outside of my current employment path.

Overall I was happy to be a student at BMC and whilst I didn’t always relish having to go night after night especially in some of the dryer subjects, the result can be there for you if you invest your time and energy. I made the right choice and I am proud to have studied and graduated at BMC / UH

  • I am working in the industry for almost 23 years (9 years in India and 14 years in Singapore).  I have rich experience and working in a good company. But I have always wanted to complete my degree in Engineering which I couldn’t do in my young age due to personal  problems.

Three years ago when I saw an advertisement in Newspaper for a top-up degree, I visited BMC and met Dr. Bala. I was very much convinced with his course preview and decided to join the BEng(Hons) EEE course.

During my study time in BMC, I found all the professors and administrative staffs are very supportive. Being it is only 1 year course, it requires a lot of personal commitment, which always keeps you self satisfying and motivating to do something in life.

I have completed my degree in Jan 2014. This year I have applied in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for Masters  in Power Engineering and successfully got admitted.

I thanks BMC for completed my dream to have an Engineering degree and recommend to those who wanted to have the same dream like me. Finally, education matters.

  • I am currently studying my MSc in Artificial Intelligence in the University of Edinburgh. BMC has helped me prepared me to go into academic studies from my HND diploma. The courses and the teaching has inspired to pursue my further studies. The time I spent in BMC gave me the confidence and tenacity I needed. The efficiency of the academic staff and support staff made it easy for me to overcome the challenges of the Bachelor Degree. The lectures and their experiences prepared us for our futures as engineers. I find myself reading back the notes from BMC while preparing for my courses. The time in BMC has improved my mathematical skills, scientific practices, research ethics and report writing . I would like to take this opportunity to thank my lectures, the head of department , academic support staff and administrative staffs of BMC.

  • BMC has a great teaching style in which they have used various resources and compiled them into a very important and simplified version which helped us in easier understanding of the knowledge. Dr. K. Balamurugan, the Academic Director / Head, Department of Engineering is a friendly, understanding and easily approachable person, who helped us in better communicating with the BMC. And last but not least, BMC has a unique way of teaching in a sense that it has well knowledgeable and very experienced teachers to teach all the lessons. It has very good software and electronic simulating kits for us [students] to do our lab experiments, along with guidance provided by experienced teachers. Apart from that, BMC library and the study rooms are open most of the time for us students to work in an environment with fully furnished air-condition and unlimited Wi-Fi. So overall, I had a knowledgeable and enriching learning experience in BMC. I have now graduated with a BE (Hon) engineering degree from Hertfordshire University, and acquired great knowledge through BMC. Thank you to all the Teachers; Thank you Academic Director Dr. K. Balamurugan and Thank you BMC.

I would like to thank all the Teachers, personally to some of them.

Mr. K. Subramaniam. I would say that he is a Solomon of electrical engineering. I loved the Power System and Power Electronics modules taught by him. He was a great teacher who understood the needs of the students and catered to everyone whenever we need his help.  He elaborates during his presentation and gives sufficient examples, using graphs and pictures to illustrate his points. I will like to thank him for his support and prompting of questions that make me think of the main points. I really do thank him from the bottom of my heart. It was a great pleasure to have been his student.

“Thank you very much Sir and I sincerely wish you all the best.”

Mrs. Geetha Rajkumar, the Perfectionist, sensible, strict and kind person. She has a natural flair for teaching. Mrs Geetha was patient and understanding towards us. She is good at controlling the class and being able to communicate well with the students.  She can answer our questions and even if we don’t get it on the first round, she will still explain patiently. She is good in delivering information. Also, even if any of our points raised were wrong, she did not correct us in a strict tone but tried to understand why we would have come up with that conclusion. She then slowly reasoned with us on the correct ways that things should be done or handled. She inspires us to work harder. She guides us steadily and corrects our mistakes frankly. She believes in upholding fairness and thus she allows each student to voice out ideas confidently.

  • The time I have spent at BMC is the most important part in my career. BMC made myself confidence to achieve my Bachelor Degree, which I used to believe as impossible at this age after my Diploma 20 years ago. As far as I am concerned the whole experience in BMC given me refreshment of the basic technical knowledge; knowledge in new areas, new friends and contacts. I like to thank the lecturers who taught me the effective time management during their busy scheduled life. I saw the results of effective collaboration during my study period, now I am using it in my industrial career.

  • Thank you BMC, for conducting the Diploma in counselling course at an affordable fee.  This course has given me an opportunity to work in a Social Welfare environment.  I have learnt many effective techniques like the Genogram, which is applicable to my current job.

Although the exam papers were tough, I managed to pass all the papers, with 2 distinctions, 2 credits and 2 passes.  The papers had been graded fairly, as the results truly reflect my efforts.

I was told BMC’s certificates are not recognized.  On the contrary, I am pleased to inform that upon completion of the course on 27 Jan 2016, my employer (a Gov. Organization), is paying me at Diploma rate.  My pay was increased by $400, backdated to 27 Jan 2016.

Sincere thanks to the lecturers, especially Celine, who knows how to inspire others to do their best.  She was very encouraging and always there to motivate me whenever I wanted to give up.  Thanks Celine, you are amazing! You understand each and every student of yours.  Thanks to Christopher for guiding me through the ‘Career and Guidance Counselling’ so well that I scored a distinction.  Thanks Rachel, for your effort in travelling to AMK Centre just to teach me ever so patiently.  Special thanks to Raj for handling all our enquiries, admin and technical issues with dedication.

  • My time with BMC International College has provided me with great insights into my academic studies. I studied at BMC International College for the GCE O-level preparatory course in 2015. The teachers in this school taught with great enthusiasm and creativity. They were also always eager to share their knowledge with everyone. Although the academic subjects were hard to comprehend, they would find ways to make them simpler for everyone to digest.

When the GCE O-level examinations were drawing close, extra and remedial lessons were provided by the school to assist students who were academically weak. Sometimes even when I had non-academic issues, some teachers would lend their ears to me, and would also share their opinions and advice. These had improved me mentally and academically. Therefore, I had a better state of mind when I was sitting for the examinations.

After receiving my 2015 O-level results, I was elated, as I have scored pretty well in some of the subjects which I had sat. My grades for the following subjects are as follows:

  • Science (Chemistry, Biology): A1
  • Elementary Mathematics: A2
  • Physics: B3
  • English Language: B4.
  • I am really grateful for the guidance, knowledge and patience from the teachers. With their help, I can further my studies in many polytechnic courses or do the GCE A-level course.

Thank you BMC for giving the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and improve my academic credentials.

  • I am grateful for BMC and University of Hertfordshire for providing me with a comprehensive but an easy mode of studying opportunity in Singapore. After completing my Diploma in Communication & Automation Electronics from Republic polytechnic,Singapore, I was looking for a well-recognized Bachelors (Hons) Degree programme that could provide me with the best knowledge in a more personalized classroom environment. It needed to be a programme that provides in-depth knowledge in theoretical aspects as well as practicals and most importantly a programme that would provide some financial relief. Many of my friends recomended me BMC as an institute established in 1966 and is well known for its standard and reliable education in Singapore. At BMC the classes were customized to maximize lecturer-student relationship, with nicely fitting classrooms and more interactive sessions. I was able to approach my lecturers anytime to know my progress and clarify doubts. Their amiable personality and encouraging feedback motivated me to study well for this programme. Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Hons) programme was well designed to give ample of hands-on experience in addition to frequently held quizzes and class works. These class-works were helpful for me to improve on my weak areas. My final year project, in which, I produced a line following robot, with the guidence of my FYP Supervisor was an added bonus for my portfolio. Building a Automated robot was a dream coming true to me!

As a Part Time student, it was a huge challenge to balance my studies while working full-time. However, with the immense support from my lecturers & admin staff most of my worries were mitigated. Nevertheless, self-studying was also a crucial part of my success today. With easily accessible BMC laboratories and library facilities I was able to spend more time on self-learning to gain extra knowledge. This was one major factor that resulted a better outcome at the end of my exams. I was able to score the highest possible grades ( Grade A ) for all the subjects and obtain a First Class Honours for BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering, (EEE) programme offered by University of Hertfordshire. I am thankful for BMC for offering such a recognized global university programme in Singapore.

In addition, the admin staff at BMC was also kind and helpful in many ways. They provided me with a plethora of information that helped me clarify my doubts and decide a best payment method. Right after graduating from polytechnic, coming from Sri Lanka, I was unable to finance myself for further studies. Hence, first I was quite disappointed that I may not be able to complete my studies for another 3-4 years. However, generous enough, at BMC School, they provided me an option of paying my fees in monthly instalments, which helped me to get rid of a great burden and pursue my studies, free from worries. I’m thankful for allowing me that opportunity which enabled me to successfully complete my one-year of part-time studies and achieve the best results possible.

At the end of the day, it was all a fulfilling and an enriching experience. I’ve gained a plethora of knowledge and I’m hoping to maximise all that to pursue my Masters in the near future. I would take this opportunity to be thankful to all my lecturers, staff and specially Head of Engineering at BMC Mr.Bala for all the Supports ,the lifetime opportunity and would highly recommend BMC to all students who would want to pursue their dreams, hassle free. BMC, It was great being with you.!

  • I have been working in the Executive Secretary position for more than twenty years. In the early days, I was unable to find time to attend long-term courses due to work and family commitments.

In August 2008, I was uncertain if I had made the right decision to take up the 10-month LCCI Double Diploma in Private Secretary Business Administration course with classes conducted twice weekly. Committing myself to study and examinations again would be really tough. However, with the encouragement of and support from my spouse as well as my two bosses, I decided to sign up for this course which was fully sponsored by the company.

Out of the five modules, in my personal opinion, Business Practice was one of the most difficult subjects followed by Business Administration. Fortunately, these two subjects were taught in an interesting manner which motivated me to do well. I subsequently scored distinctions in these two subjects as well as all the other subjects. Additionally, I was awarded the Country Silver Medallion award for my Business Practice module. I am very happy that all my sacrifices and late nights of studying were duly rewarded.

Obtaining this LCCI qualifications have not only enabled me to attain my goal to be a Certified Secretary, but also built a stronger foundation of practical knowledge in my field. Now, I feel more confident in my work and personal life. In addition, I impart what I have learnt in classes to my subordinates and fellow colleagues, and these have been an enriching learning experience. I feel better equipped, and I certainly look forward to taking on greater challenges in the future!

  • Choosing BMC to pursue HND Diploma in Computing and Systems Development was really a great decision for me. The course helped me in developing a sense of system knowledge along with business skills. The classroom sessions were very interactive and also I was able to approach my lecturers any time to clarify my doubts. I really enjoyed the practical sessions and many times we have to give presentations that not only enhanced my knowledge but also boost my confidence and presentation skills. I have learnt a lot from my teachers, they are very supportive, knowledgeable and easily approachable. BMC staff has always helped me in administrative matters. They are very polite and helpful. At the end of the day it was a fulfilling and enriching experience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my teachers and staff specially our Academic Director Dr. K. Balamurugan, HOD (Business Degrees and Computing Programmes) Mr. Adai Kalavan and Lecturer & Coordinating Executive Ms. Simran Kochhar for their invaluable support and guidance.
