I have been working in the Executive Secretary position for more than twenty years. In the early days, I was unable to find time to attend long-term courses due to work and family commitments.

In August 2008, I was uncertain if I had made the right decision to take up the 10-month LCCI Double Diploma in Private Secretary Business Administration course with classes conducted twice weekly. Committing myself to study and examinations again would be really tough. However, with the encouragement of and support from my spouse as well as my two bosses, I decided to sign up for this course which was fully sponsored by the company.

Out of the five modules, in my personal opinion, Business Practice was one of the most difficult subjects followed by Business Administration. Fortunately, these two subjects were taught in an interesting manner which motivated me to do well. I subsequently scored distinctions in these two subjects as well as all the other subjects. Additionally, I was awarded the Country Silver Medallion award for my Business Practice module. I am very happy that all my sacrifices and late nights of studying were duly rewarded.

Obtaining this LCCI qualifications have not only enabled me to attain my goal to be a Certified Secretary, but also built a stronger foundation of practical knowledge in my field. Now, I feel more confident in my work and personal life. In addition, I impart what I have learnt in classes to my subordinates and fellow colleagues, and these have been an enriching learning experience. I feel better equipped, and I certainly look forward to taking on greater challenges in the future!
