About BMC

BMC International College Pte Ltd (formerly known as BMC Academy) is a private educational institution established in 1966. BMC International College has grown significantly and its portfolio of courses now includes academic (N, O and A level); accounting and business; engineering and information technology; food and beverages; travel, tourism and hospitality, counselling and psychology. Students graduate with international qualifications at certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, degree and post graduate level.

BMC International College is an approved partner organization with the University of Hertfordshire, and currently has a franchise agreement to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the School of Psychology. BMC now wishes to extend its provision in the field of Mental Health with the introduction of the following programmes:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling

About the Counselling Programmes

  • Provides both a professional training in Counselling and an opportunity to achieve competence in practitioner research
  • Students will explore a theoretical, experimental and practical levels as an integrated psychodynamic approach to Counseling. Particular attention will be paid to social and cultural values that underpin Counselling theories and practices.
  • Topics such as loss, bereavement, transitions, change, diversity, stress, and group dynamics are all covered. Students are given time and opportunities to digest and evaluate these concepts and to make links to their own life and work experiences.
  • Students are introduced to the concept of personal development in the context of Counselling training and are given exercises to raise awareness of personal issues as well as opportunities to share these insights. Students are given ample opportunities to further explore these issues through work in pairs, small groups and large groups.
