Course Contents

Analogue Electronics

Students are trained to interpret, construct, test and troubleshoot analogue electronic circuits. They should also be able to construct prototype analogue electronic projects.

Digital Electronics

Students are trained to design and demonstrate the operation of basic electronic circuit. They should also be able to construct prototype digital electronic projects.

Electrical & Electronics Principles

Students are trained to explain basic principles of electricity, connect simple electrical circuits, check and test industrial and simple electronics circuits. They should also be able to construct prototype electronic project on printed circuit board.

Electronics CAD & Practice

Students are trained to convert electronic schematic circuit into PCB layout and vice versa using CAD software. They should also be able to design, fabricate, test and commission the completed electronic project according to given specifications.

Communications & Industrial Electronics

Students are trained to interpret and test various functional blocks of a communication receiver system as well as to check, test and use industrial power and sensing devices for constructing simple projects.

Microcontroller Applications

Students are trained to interface and program a micro-controller to operate different types of input and output devices.

Computer & Industrial Control

Students are trained to install, test, troubleshoot as well as maintain a microcomputer system and also to write a simple program on a PLC.

Networking & Communications

Students are trained to interface and carry out tests between microcomputer and peripheral, as well as set up and test wired and wireless Local Area Network.

New Fee Structure

Under the new fee structure, applicants are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of $30 when an application for STP is submitted to ICA for consideration. Payment must be made through the ICA online portals for STP application (i.e. SOLAR or SOLAR+). Successful STP applications will only need to pay a one-time fee of $60 for the issuance of the LTP cards, regardless of the duration of the pass granted. The prevailing visa fee will continue to apply for those visa-required countries.

Foreign students will be required to pay a sum of $60 for replacement of lost or damaged STP cards.

NOTE: Fees may change periodically without prior notice.
