Course Outline
IADCS is 8 module qualification. This course gives an in-depth knowledge of Computer Studies. All the modules accompany with practical work to enhance the skills of the students. Upon completing this course students can proceed to the degree programmes in Computer Studies. The modules are as below:

* Practical Project will be given out 4 months before completion of the diploma programme. Take note that there will be no classes conducted on public holidays. All exam dates will be notified at least one month in advance to help preparation.
Course Contents
Systems Analysis
This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to progress from the gathering of the initial requirements for a complex system through to a tested system which delivers the desired functionality. The module considers development methods, analysis and design tool and techniques and a wide range of other issues including user interface design, system documentation, security and performance.
Enterprise Networking
Effective communication, both internally and externally, is vital to the success of a modern business. This module aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand the networking options that are available to a business, to evaluate the business’s requirements for data and voice networking and to determine the most appropriate networking solution to meet the requirements.
Database Design and Development
This module aims to provide students with an understanding of database concepts and key issues in the development of databases. The module considers the architecture and use of a Database Management System (DBMS) and the issues of physical design and database administration.
Practical Project
This module requires a student to develop a practical computer-based system for an external customer, following professional software development and implementation practices. The experience will be very valuable to the student; he/she will be able to use practically a wide range of knowledge gained from other modules in the programme and his/her own research. The student will gain practical skills and be able to place material from other modules into context.
The Internet Systems Administration
A large number of organizations have an internet presence ad conduct business over the internet. This module aims to provide students with the theoretical underpinning, and intellectual and practical skills that will allow them to develop and maintain complex internet-based systems.
The Internet Security
Internet security is a major challenge for businesses of all sizes. This module aims to provide students with appropriate theoretical knowledge, and the intellectual and practical skills to develop and implement security policies and procedures that will protect data and react to threats posed by connection to the internet.
Business Management
Many organizations place emphasis on the use of professional business management to control their structure, strategy and operations. It is important, therefore, that IT practitioners understand the principles of effective management techniques and competencies. The module covers organizational and people issues, and stresses the importance of managing corporate information and finance effectively.
Managing Business Projects
In a highly global environment, where traditional business processes may struggle, organizations are increasingly implementing projects to initiate and manage business change. This module aims to provide students with knowledge and skills in project management applied to systems development and other business functions.
Assessment
Modules are assessed based on Global Assignments, Local Examinations & Global Examinations. Assessments are conducted 4 times an year (March, June, September & December). Students have to attain a pass grade in all the 8 modules for the award of the certificate. Students can appeal if they are not satisfied in the grade awarded in any of the modules within 15 days of declaration of the results. A processing fee is applicable. The fee will be refunded only if there is any change in the grade awarded when compared to the previous result.

New Fee Structure
Under the new fee structure, applicants are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of $30 when an application for STP is submitted to ICA for consideration. Payment must be made through the ICA online portals for STP application (i.e. SOLAR or SOLAR+). Successful STP applications will only need to pay a one-time fee of $60 for the issuance of the LTP cards, regardless of the duration of the pass granted. The prevailing visa fee will continue to apply for those visa-required countries.
Foreign students will be required to pay a sum of $60 for replacement of lost or damaged STP cards.
NOTE: Fees may change periodically without prior notice.
