Class Group & Time Tables
Students should check the classrooms assigned to them on the first day of the semester. It is strongly advised that students obtain the latest time table from the Proogramme Managers or Course Consultants before class commences.
Leave of Absence
Students who are unable to attend classes/assessments/tests must submit a "Leave of Absence Application Form" at least 2 days in advance. Reasons of absence must be stated. The documentary proof (such as Medical Certificates) must be handed over to the Student Support Services Department to support their application.
Attendance
In line with Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) regulations, our attendance policy ensures that students maximise their achievements while they are studying with us. It is mandatory that all international students sign in for their classes. Even when classes are not scheduled students are expected to do their own private study. Students should spend at least 5 hours from Mondays to Fridays attending classes and tutorials, participating in enrichment activities and engaging in self-studies.
Attendance Requirements
BMC International College is obliged to report to Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on foreign students who have failed to attend classes for a continuous period of 7 days without any valid reason and/or have not attended classes regularly i.e. where the percentage of attendance is 90% or lower in any month of the course without any valid reason.
Student Pass holders are required to fulfill a minimum of 90% attendance for each subject/module. Students who fail to meet the minimum requirements will be terminated from the school and ICA will be informed of such cases.
Signing the attendance registrar on behalf of other students is strictly prohibited.
