Diploma in Hotel Management
Completed Secondary School Education. Student must pass all the 10 modules to be awarded with the  Diploma in Hotel Management
1. Business Computing

This module provides students with a basic understanding of the use of Information Technology in a business context through some common applications.

2. Business Operations in Hospitality and Tourism

This module will provide students with a broad introduction into the complex world of hospitality and tourism business operations.

3. Marketing for Tourism and Hospitality
To provide students with an understanding of marketing and its application in the international hotel and tourism industry, and the ways in which marketing strategies and approaches can be used to optimise product penetration.
4. The Tourism Industry
The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the nature of tourism and tourism products from both local and international perspectives.
5. Food and Beverage Operations
The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the operational and supervisory aspects of running a food and beverage operation for an international clientele in a range of establishments, to encourage an appreciation of the origins of such systems and to understand the various factors involved in meeting customer needs.
6. Food Hygiene, Health and Safety
This module makes an important contribution to the supervisory aspects of food hygiene and safety. Supervisors with food safety and health and safety responsibilities need to ensure that all staff operate in a safe, hygienic and efficient manner.
7. Front Office Operations
This module introduces students to the systems and procedures required for Front Office Operations. It emphasises the importance of high standards in personal qualities and the provision of customer service.
8. Housekeeping and Accommodation Operations
The aim of this module is to provide students with an overview of the range of functions within the facilities department of hotels.
9. Finance in Hospitality and Tourism
This module will give students the knowledge, skills and techniques that will help with the management decision making process.
10. Global Hospitality Industry
This module explores the scope of the industry, the various activities contained within it and its position in relation to the world market.

Advanced  Diploma in Hotel Management
  • Must have successfully completed or be exempted from CTH Diplomas or the equivalent.
  • If currently taking the CTH Diploma, you must have passed at least five Diploma level module examinations to be able to progress. Please note that you will not receive your Advanced Diploma certificate if you have not passed all modules at Diploma level.
  • Two or more years experience in the relevant industry at supervisory level.
  • Relevant City & Guilds Diploma.
  • BTEC National Diploma in Hotel and Catering.
  • AVCE (Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education).
  • Advanced Diploma in Hospitality, Institute of Hospitality Part A.
Student must pass all the 6 modules to be awarded with the advanced Diploma in Hotel Management
1. Management Research Report
It offers the opportunity for students to carry out a research report that involves analysing and interpreting data and making recommendations for future action.
2. Human Resource Management
The aim of this module is to provide a foundation in both the knowledge and skills of Human Resource Management required by managers in the hospitality industry.
3. Management Accounting
This module aims to provide students with an understanding of the financial and accounting records used in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, and the ways these can aid effective managerial decision-making.
4. Strategic Management
The aim of this module is to make students aware of the strategic planning process and its impact on the Hospitality Industry.
5. Food & Beverage Management
The focus of this module is on the development and application of practical activities within a Food and Beverage environment.
6. Facilities Management
This module develops an understanding of the requirements of a facilities manager in relation to the management of services which support an organization.

8. Tourism Economics
This module will provide the knowledge and tools to establish an understanding of tourism economics and it will focus on the tourism business and the external circumstances in which it operates.
9. Special Interest Tourism
This module allows students to explore the important growth market which combines hobbies and interests, active sport and adventure activities, and social and cultural encounters with tourism.
10. Destination Analysis
The aim of this module is to provide students with a holistic understanding of destination analysis by investigating established and developing destinations.

The aim of this module is to encourage students to reflect on some of the issues raised at Diploma level about tourism destinations and how they can be developed.
6. Tour Operations
Students will be given the opportunity to investigate the Tour Operations sector of the travel and tourism industry, including the different types of operator, their products and services, the scale of the sector and how it has been affected by trends and developments.
